Therefore, Let it Be Resolved

January 2, 2018 By Rev. Kirk Moore (he, him, his)

Did you make any New Year’s Resolutions?  After a day or two, how are things going?

Resolutions, goals, challenges, and dreams aren’t limited to once a year.  Things don’t have to be “resolved.” There doesn’t have to be a mandate.

What if instead of a list of “musts,” every day I simply decided to

Be mindful of how I’m feeling.  Be mindful of my surroundings. Be mindful of the things that lift me up and the things that don’t.

I resolve to be mindful.

Stretch myself a little bit and experience something new.  It could be something as simple as learning to count to 10 in another language or spending 5 minutes studying about another culture.

I resolve to be curious.

Do something at makes me feel as if I can breathe in a little deeper. It’s the kind of things that gives my soul both rest and energy.

I resolve to breathe deeper.

Be kind to myself and to others even if I failed the day before.  Every day is an opportunity to be mindful, curious, to pay attention, and to check in.

This year I resolve to check in with myself and with others about how things are going.

Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. Hebrews 10:24
